Duke holds off Maryland

A Bridgette Mitchell jumper had the Blue Devils ahead 55-54 with 1:29 to play in the game. Tchatchouang missed a jumper at the other end.

Duke then was off the mark on a pair of shots before Cheek was fouled. Cheek made both free throws to put the Blue Devils in front 57-54 with 20 seconds remaining.

Anjale Barrett couldn't make a three-pointer at the opposite end, and Thomas made 1-of-2 from the line to make it a four-point contest with five ticks left on the clock.

Barrett made a trey in the last second to account for the final margin.
